Sri Lanka has decided to grant amnesty to 588 prisoners on the occasion of its 75th Independence Day. Among those prisoners, five hundred and fifty-seven prisoners were found guilty by the court in drug cases, but were believed to improve after being sent to the reformatory, and 31 other prisoners were about to be released because their behavior and behavior had improved.

According to Article 34 of the Constitution of Sri Lanka, the authorities are going to release those prisoners using the powers vested in the President. 

On the occasion of last year's Independence Day, 197 prisoners were released. Sri Lanka gained independence from the British Empire on February 4, 1948.

Today Sri Lanka is celebrating its 75th Independence Day.
